What adult learners say

My adult classes are all about helping you feel relaxed, supported and proud of what you're learning – no pressure or stress.
Here’s what some lovely learners have shared:

“I'm really enjoying Spanish lessons with Sam. The small group setting is perfect, and she makes the classes fun and friendly.

Learning a new language can be daunting but Sam makes sure everyone feels comfortable and not pressured or embarrassed if we make mistakes.

The lessons are interactive and engaging and she provides tons of helpful, easy-to-follow resources to take home.

The only downside is that the hour just goes too quickly! Gracias, Sam😀”

Heather (Beccles Spanish Classes)

“Joined Sam’s beginners Spanish class in January and 12 weeks on I now know so much vocabulary that I would be confident to order food and drink, get an extra glass or replace a dirty fork after successfully navigating directions to a restaurant and stopping off at a cash point en route!

Sam has made Monday evenings fun and it’s great to learn with others in a small group, with lots of more natural words and phrases that you don’t get in traditional books. Can’t wait until the next course starts.”

Tracey L (Beccles Spanish Classes)

You can do it !! Fortunately we had a small class and were able to have an intense teaching where we could practice speaking aloud. Sams format and interactive teaching skills were incredibly useful.

Claire, Beccles (Local Spanish Beginners Class)

Sam is a fantastic teacher. I've studied a couple of languages and attended a number of courses but I've never played games or had so much fun. Sam makes the lessons engaging and the games make the words stick and I feel much more confident - Thank you Sam”

C, Beccles (Local Spanish class)

“I wanted to learn some Spanish in preparation for tracking to Costa Rica. Sam’s teaching and follow up helped with greetings, directions, food allergies. I enjoyed her teaching style and very practical prompts and reminders. Although it was zoom it felt relaxed and designed for me.

Lucy, Adult learner (Private Online Spanish class)

“Top notch teaching.. I think I'm going to 'get it '. Sam is also very engaging. So glad I started this.”

Rose Simpson (Beginner Spanish, Beccles)

“Good fun and useful resources”

Jill Skipper, Beccles (Beginner Spanish course)

I absolutely love this class, friendly calm atmosphere with friendly faces, broken down in easy fun ways, Sam is amazing!

My classes run in 12-week blocks and the full course costs £180 (that’s £15 per week). You can either pay in full when you book or choose to spread the cost over 2, 3 or 4 months. That works out as £90 per month, £60 per month or £45 per month.

Subject to availability, I may be able to offer the option to book individual drop-in sessions once the term has started, but this will depend on whether there’s still space in the group after the course begins.

Shorter courses, mini courses and cultural events will have their own pricing — these will always be clearly listed on the course page or event details.

My evening face-to-face classes take place at Old School Coffee, 33a Newgate, Beccles, NR34 9QB. We have private use of the café for our Spanish sessions, and there’s always a friendly member of staff on hand if you'd like to grab a drink while you learn. They serve delicious coffees and a great range of hot and cold drinks — the perfect treat for an evening class.

My afternoon classes are held next door at The Printing Press, 35A Newgate, Beccles, NR34 9QB. It's a beautiful Mediterranean-style space with an indoor olive tree and a relaxed, sociable atmosphere. While it’s not a private room, it’s calm, welcoming and perfect for learning Spanish in good company. You’re very welcome to order a drink from Old School Coffee — they’ll bring it over during the session — or order directly at The Printing Press using the QR code on the menu.

My classes focus on real life Spanish that you can use in everyday situations, whether you're ordering tapas, asking for directions or chatting on holiday. Each course block covers practical themes designed to help you build confidence in speaking, understanding and using key vocabulary and grammar.

I’ll guide you through language you won’t find in textbooks and you’ll make steady progress with your Spanish while learning about the culture too.

You can find more details about what each course covers by clicking on the class you’re interested in.

Classes run all year round in 12-week blocks, with the occasional shorter course or seasonal session. You can check the latest course dates, times and booking info further down this page.

Yes, as class sizes are small and spaces are limited, payment is required for the full term. If you miss a lesson, don’t worry — you’ll still be able to access the class resources and key vocabulary audio files in the online learning area, which all students have access to.

If you’re unable to make your usual class one week, you’re very welcome to join a different class that week instead, if there’s space. Just contact me to arrange it.

If you're looking for a more flexible option, there may be a chance to book individual pay-as-you-go sessions once the course has started, subject to availability. These include the live class only, not access to the online learning and community area. To check availability for pay-as-you-go sessions, please contact me directly.

No worries at all. You’ll still get access to the class resources and a copy of the student worksheet in the online learning area.

Please let me know in advance if you can’t make it so I can make sure everything is ready for you.

You’re also welcome to join a different class that week if there is space. Just contact me directly to arrange it.

Nothing at all. I’ll provide all the lesson resources and anything else you need in class.

You might just want to bring some change or a card if you’d like to buy a drink during the session.

You can enjoy a lovely coffee or cold drink before or during class at The Printing Press and Old School Coffee. If you're coming to an evening class, you can also treat yourself to a glass of wine or beer if you fancy. It’s a lovely way to support another local business while you learn.

When you book, you’re agreeing to a non-refundable course. However, there’s no commitment to continue beyond the term.

Yes! There is street parking in town and several pay-and-display car parks, many of which are free after 6pm (though some may still require registration).
Tesco is also opposite the café but please be mindful of any parking rules or restrictions.

Yes, if there are still spaces you are welcome to join. I recommend contacting me (Sam) and booking a taster lesson first to check that the class is suitable for you. This includes audio files and interactive flashcards.
