Continue building your Spanish with practical lessons, plenty of speaking and a friendly group of learners.
This course is for adults who have completed my Beginners course or already feel comfortable with introductions, exchanging simple personal information, ordering food and drinks and managing a basic shopping conversation.
We’ll build from there, helping you say more and use your Spanish in a wider range of everyday situations.

This course is the natural follow-on from my Beginners Spanish course. It’s also suitable if you’ve learned some Spanish elsewhere and already feel comfortable with the basics.

You should already be able to:
- Greet people and introduce yourself
- Exchange simple personal information
- Use numbers, prices, dates and times
- Order food and drinks in a café or restaurant
- Express some simple likes and dislikes
- Manage a basic shopping conversation
What will I learn?
Next Steps builds on the Spanish you already know and helps you communicate in a wider range of everyday situations.
During the course, you’ll learn how to:
✓ Ask for and understand directions
✓ Talk about where places are and how to get there
✓ Ask for what you need at a pharmacy and explain simple symptoms
✓ Use common present-tense verbs to talk about yourself and everyday life
✓ Ask and answer a wider range of questions
✓ Build longer conversations by bringing together the Spanish you’ve learned
Every group progresses at its own pace, so we’ll take the time to practise, revisit things and make sure the language starts to feel familiar.
What are the lessons actually like?
You’ll use Spanish throughout the lessons through games, practical activities and conversations based on everyday situations.
I’ll explain new language clearly and give you plenty of opportunities to practise it, revisit it and use it alongside the Spanish you already know.
The classes are relaxed and sociable, with lots of encouragement and time to ask questions.
What’s included?
All your worksheets and learning resources are included, so you don’t need to buy a textbook or bring anything with you.
If you miss a class, I’ll send you the lesson resources and any supporting audio or voice notes to help you catch up.

Where do the classes take place?
My Monday evening face-to-face classes take place at Old School Coffee, 33a Newgate, Beccles, NR34 9QB.
We have private use of the café for our Spanish sessions, with a friendly member of staff on hand if you'd like to grab a drink.
Old School Coffee serves up delicious coffees, plus a great range of hot and cold drinks—perfect to enjoy while you learn!

No. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to speak, but you won’t be singled out or expected to speak before you feel ready. The classes are relaxed and supportive.

Yes, if there are still spaces you are welcome to join. I recommend contacting me (Sam) and booking a taster lesson first to check that the class is suitable for you. If you then decide to continue with the remainder of the course you will receive access to the online learning area which contains all the material covered. This includes audio files and interactive flashcards.
Yes, as class sizes are small and spaces are limited, payment is required for the full term. If you miss a lesson, don’t worry — you’ll still be able to access the class resources and key vocabulary audio files in the online learning area, which all students have access to.
If you’re unable to make your usual class one week, you’re very welcome to join a different class that week instead, if there’s space and a suitable option for you. Just contact me to arrange it.

Nothing. All your worksheets and learning resources are included. Some learners bring a folder to keep everything together, but that’s completely optional.
You might just want to bring some change or a card if you’d like to buy a drink during the session.
You can enjoy a lovely coffee or cold drink before or during class at Old School Coffee.
Course bookings are non-refundable, so please check that you can attend the dates before booking. Paying in instalments spreads the cost of the full course and isn’t a pay-as-you-go option.

Yes! There is street parking in town and several pay-and-display car parks, many of which are free after 6pm (though some may still require registration). Tesco is also opposite the café but please be mindful of any parking rules or restrictions.
Yes. The course costs £198 and you can pay in full, in two monthly payments of £99 or in three monthly payments of £66.
The course is booked as a complete 12-week block, so the instalments spread the cost rather than paying for individual lessons.
Possibly, depending on how many lessons you’ve missed, whether the level is suitable and whether there’s still space. Get in touch first and I’ll let you know.
