Not necessarily! Most learners have done my Beginners and Next Steps classes, but if you're already confident with the basics (like using the present tense and everyday vocabulary), you'll fit right in.
My classes run in 12-week blocks and the full course costs £180 (that’s £15 per week). You can either pay in full when you book or choose to spread the cost over 2, 3 or 4 months. That works out as £90 per month, £60 per month or £45 per month.
Subject to availability, I may be able to offer the option to book individual drop-in sessions once the term has started, but this will depend on whether there’s still space in the group after the course begins.
Shorter courses, mini courses and cultural events will have their own pricing — these will always be clearly listed on the course page or event details.
Classes run all year round in 12-week blocks, with the occasional shorter course or seasonal session. This course runs from Monday 8th of September to Monday 24th of November 2025
Yes, if there are still spaces you are welcome to join. I recommend contacting me (Sam) and booking a taster lesson first to check that the class is suitable for you. If you then decide to continue with the remainder of the course you will receive access to the online learning area which contains all the material covered. This includes audio files and interactive flashcards.
Yes, as class sizes are small and spaces are limited, payment is required for the full term. If you miss a lesson, don’t worry — you’ll still be able to access the class resources and key vocabulary audio files in the online learning area, which all students have access to.
If you’re unable to make your usual class one week, you’re very welcome to join a different class that week instead, if there’s space. Just contact me to arrange it.
If you're looking for a more flexible option, there may be a chance to book individual pay-as-you-go sessions once the course has started, subject to availability. These include the live class only, not access to the online learning and community area. To check availability for pay-as-you-go sessions, please contact me directly.
Life happens! Just let me know — I’ll send you a recap with what we covered so you can stay on track.
Nothing at all. I’ll provide all the lesson resources and anything else you need in class.
You might just want to bring some change or a card if you’d like to buy a drink during the session.
You can enjoy a lovely coffee or cold drink before or during class at The Printing Press and Old School Coffee. If you're coming to an evening class, you can also treat yourself to a glass of wine or beer if you fancy. It’s a lovely way to support another local business while you learn.
When you book, you’re agreeing to a non-refundable course. However, there’s no commitment to continue beyond the term.
If you're unsure, you're welcome to book a taster lesson first, subject to availability.
Yes! There is street parking in town and several pay-and-display car parks, many of which are free after 6pm (though some may still require registration). Tesco is also opposite the café but please be mindful of any parking rules or restrictions.
