Is this for you?

This free mini course is for you if:

You teach languages

You are a language tutor or teacher. You may tutor one to one, teach in schools, be in the early stages of building your own classes, or be moving into adult teaching and looking for clearer direction.

You want more flexibility

You would love teaching that fits around your life, with options for daytime, evening or weekend classes that feel sustainable.

You want something more consistent

You are ready for classes that can run more steadily through the year, rather than relying on short busy periods tied to exams.

You want classes you genuinely enjoy

You want relaxed, sociable adult classes with learners who choose to be there and keep coming back.

Inside the mini course

In this free mini course, you’ll explore what adult language classes could look like for you and how they might fit into your life and teaching week.

Across five short videos, I’ll guide you through some simple but powerful ideas, from the kind of learners you would love to teach to the structure and feel of classes that work for you.

Each video is around five minutes long and includes one short prompt to help you connect what you’re hearing to your own situation.

You can complete the mini course over five days, binge it in about an hour, or dip in and out whenever it suits you.

This mini course is shaped around the real questions tutors often ask me when they’re thinking about running adult classes, based on what I’ve learned from building my own.

Hola, I’m Sam

I’m a qualified Spanish and French teacher and the founder of SJ Languages.

I began my career as a secondary school and sixth form teacher before leaving classroom teaching to set up my own business. Like many tutors, I started with one to one private tuition and online small group classes, mainly supporting GCSE students alongside learners of different ages.

In January 2025, I began running adult Spanish classes in my local area. What started as two small groups has grown into a thriving community of over fifty regular weekly adult learners, alongside sell-out experiences and pop-up events.

Teaching adults has completely changed how my business looks and feels. It’s brought more consistency across the year, more flexibility in how I work, and far more enjoyment in my teaching week.

I created this mini course to help tutors start thinking clearly about running adult classes. From what you want those classes to look like, to who you want to teach and how adult classes can fit into your wider business in a way that feels sustainable and enjoyable.

If you’re at the stage of wondering whether adult classes could work for you too, this is a gentle place to start.
