Where do the classes take place?

For my face-to-face Wednesday afternoon class, we’ll be in The Printing Press, a gorgeous space next door to Old School Coffee. Printing Press, 35A Newgate, Beccles NR34 9QB.

It’s styled like a Mediterranean courtyard—complete with an indoor olive tree —and creates a lovely, relaxed atmosphere for learning Spanish.

While it’s not a private space, it’s calm and welcoming, and perfect for a sociable class setting.

You’re very welcome to order a drink from Old School Coffee, and the team will bring it over to you during the session. They serve delicious coffees and a great range of hot and cold drinks—ideal to enjoy while you learn!

¡Hola! I'm so excited you're thinking of joining my Beginners Spanish class in Beccles! Whether you're brand new or have dabbled with Duolingo, this course is the perfect place to start.

I’ve spoken Spanish for over 27 years and grew up in Tenerife, where I went to Spanish school and later worked—so you’ll learn real-life, practical Spanish with plenty of cultural insight.

I’m a qualified teacher (QTS) and Finalist for Online Tutor of the Year 2024, and my classes are all about keeping things relaxed, friendly, and encouraging. You’ll learn useful Spanish you can actually use—and have a laugh along the way.

Looking forward to welcoming you to the class at Old School Coffee!

What it’s like to learn Spanish with me

“You can do it !! Fortunately we had a small class and were able to have an intense teaching where we could practice speaking aloud. Sams format and interactive teaching skills were incredibly useful.”

Claire, Beccles (Local Class)

“Sam is a fantastic teacher. I've studied a couple of languages and attended a number of courses but I've never played games or had so much fun. Sam makes the lessons engaging and the games make the words stick and I feel much more confident - Thank you Sam”

C, Beccles (Local Spanish class)

“I wanted to learn some Spanish in preparation for tracking to Costa Rica. Sam’s teaching and follow up helped with greetings, directions, food allergies. I enjoyed her teaching style and very practical prompts and reminders. Although it was zoom it felt relaxed and designed for me.”

Lucy, Adult learner (Private Online Spanish class)
