Where do the classes take place?
For my face-to-face Thursday afternoon class, we’ll be in The Printing Press, a gorgeous space next door to Old School Coffee. Printing Press, 35A Newgate, Beccles NR34 9QB.
It’s styled like a Mediterranean courtyard—complete with an indoor olive tree —and creates a lovely, relaxed atmosphere for learning Spanish.
While it’s not a private space, it’s calm and welcoming, and perfect for a sociable class setting.
You’re very welcome to order a drink from Old School Coffee, and the team will bring it over to you during the session. They serve delicious coffees and a great range of hot and cold drinks—ideal to enjoy while you learn!

¡Hola! I’m Sam, your local Spanish teacher
I’m so excited you're thinking of joining my Beginners Spanish class in Beccles.
Whether you're brand new or have dabbled with Duolingo, this course is the perfect place to start.
I’ve spoken Spanish for over 26 years and grew up in Tenerife, where I went to Spanish school and later worked. You’ll learn real-life, practical Spanish with plenty of cultural insight.
I’m a qualified Spanish teacher (QTS) and a Finalist for Online Tutor of the Year 2024.
My classes are all about keeping things relaxed, friendly, and encouraging. You’ll learn useful Spanish you can actually use and have a laugh along the way.
Looking forward to welcoming you to the class at Old School Coffee or Printing Press in Beccles!

FAQs – Beginners Spanish Class in Beccles
Not sure if it’s the right fit? These FAQs should help
No. The class is relaxed and friendly, and you’ll never be asked to speak before you’re ready. Activities and games help you build confidence naturally at your own pace.
Not at all. This class is designed for complete beginners, even if you’ve never spoken a word of Spanish before. You’ll be supported step by step from the very beginning.
That’s great. This class will help you build on what you’ve picked up and turn it into real, usable Spanish through structured lessons and speaking practice.
This 10 week course costs £165 and includes all your learning materials. You can either pay in full when you book or choose to spread the cost over 2 or 3 months. That works out as £82.50 per month or £55 per month.
Subject to availability, I may be able to offer the option to book individual drop-in sessions once the term has started, but this will depend on whether there’s still space in the group after the course begins.
Shorter courses, mini courses and cultural events will have their own pricing — these will always be clearly listed on the course page or event details.
Yes, if there are still spaces you are welcome to join. I recommend contacting me (Sam) and booking a taster lesson first to check that the class is suitable for you. If you then decide to continue with the remainder of the course you will receive access to the online learning area which contains all the material covered. This includes audio files and interactive flashcards.
Yes, as class sizes are small and spaces are limited, payment is required for the full term. If you miss a lesson, don’t worry — you’ll still be able to access the class resources and key vocabulary audio files in the online learning area, which all students have access to.
If you’re unable to make your usual class one week, you’re very welcome to join a different class that week instead, if there’s space. Just contact me to arrange it.
If you're looking for a more flexible option, there may be a chance to book individual pay-as-you-go sessions once the course has started, subject to availability. These include the live class only, not access to the online learning and community area. To check availability for pay-as-you-go sessions, please contact me directly.
No worries at all. You’ll still get access to the class resources and a copy of the student worksheet in the online learning area.
Please let me know in advance if you can’t make it so I can make sure everything is ready for you.
You’re also welcome to join a different class that week if there is space. Just contact me directly to arrange it.
Nothing at all. I’ll provide all the lesson resources and anything else you need in class.
You might just want to bring some change or a card if you’d like to buy a drink during the session.
You can enjoy a lovely coffee or cold drink before or during class at The Printing Press and Old School Coffee. If you're coming to an evening class, you can also treat yourself to a glass of wine or beer if you fancy. It’s a lovely way to support another local business while you learn.
When you book, you’re agreeing to a non-refundable course. However, there’s no commitment to continue beyond the term.
If you're unsure, you're welcome to book a taster lesson first, subject to availability.
Yes! There is street parking in town and several pay-and-display car parks, many of which are free after 6pm (though some may still require registration). Tesco is also opposite the café but please be mindful of any parking rules or restrictions.
