What my student's say...

A student's experience of working with me

Hear from parents of my students - thank you for the lovely feedback!

“My daughter has been working in Sam’s Spanish group lesson for three months. After her first lesson she came to me with a huge smile on her face declaring how amazing the lesson was and how much she had learnt not only through Sam’s incredible teaching but also through the other highly motivated students. Since then she has significantly improved her grade from a 4 to a potential 7 or 8. I would totally recommend Sam’s online lessons to any parent wanting their child to reach their potential in Spanish. ”

Parent - GCSE Spanish Year 11 Group

“Sam is an excellent tutor, she supported our son through his GCSEs. The depth of knowledge that Sam has of the curriculum and beyond is priceless. ”

Parent of a GCSE Spanish student

“I started looking for a Spanish tutor for my son a few months before his year 11 exams. We had a consultation zoom meeting with a few tutors. My son and I really liked Sam’s lively approachable personality. She was obviously very knowledgeable exam and subject wise. She had a clear and precise answer to our every question and the price plan was affordable. I have seen an increase in my child’s subject knowledge confidence since the lessons as Sam provides priceless insight to exam and revision techniques. She is always on time with very well planned and structured lessons. ”

Parent - Home Ed IGCSE Student

“In the short time that we have been working with Samantha she has helped our child increase in confidence for an upcoming IGCSE Spanish oral exam. By explaining the structure of the exam, and what exactly is required to gain top marks, Samantha broke it down into manageable chunks that our child could easily understand. Going into the exam our child felt relaxed and calm thanks to Samantha’s help and enjoyed chatting with the examiner.”

Parent - iGCSE Spanish student

“We have had the pleasure of working with Sam for 2 months now, and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Since working together, we've witnessed remarkable progress in Stefanie’s learning, thanks to their innovative teaching methods and personalized approach. One of our favourite aspects of Sam's classes is their ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel empowered to explore and grow. We wholeheartedly recommend Samantha Kelly ”

FAQ

  • Who is this course for?

This course is for Year 9/10 GCSE French students studying to take their GCSE exams in 2026 (the new GCSE). This revision club is tailored to the AQA exam board content and exam-style questions.

  • What’s included in the subscription for group classes?

The subscription includes weekly group classes and access to study materials. Students can join interactive sessions and participate in my online community for peer support. Both parents and students also have access to a secure community area where they can ask Sam, the tutor, questions if they need help between sessions.

  • How do live lessons work?

The live lessons are held online via Zoom. Each 1-hour class is interactive, allowing students to ask questions and join discussions. Sessions begin with retrieval practice questions to assess prior learning, followed by teaching and interactive activities. Students can participate using their microphones, the chat area, or an interactive whiteboard. Sam, the tutor, provides instant feedback, and interactive quizzes reinforce learning. A workbook or worksheets may be provided for some lessons, but these are optional, allowing students to work in the way that suits them best. All sessions are recorded and available for later review.

  • Does my student need to have their camera or mic on?

No, they don’t have to. I encourage students to use their mics to talk to me, but they can also use the chat function. I run my Zoom classes in focus mode, so if they do have their camera on, only I, the tutor, can see them. Having the camera on helps me check in with them and enhances engagement.

  • What if my teen needs to miss a lesson or can't attend all of them live—does that matter?

Absolutely not! These sessions are just as effective when watched as a recording at a time that’s convenient for you.

  • How does the pricing work?

The group sessions are £25 each. There are 30 sessions over the year. To simplify payment, I’ve divided the total cost by the 9 months the course runs, resulting in an average monthly price of £85. This means you’ll pay the same amount each month, regardless of whether there are 4 sessions or if holidays affect the schedule.

  • When does the course start, and what days are the live lessons?

Live lessons begin on Tuesday 5th November 2024, at 5pm. Since term dates vary across the country, I've created my own schedule, which mostly follows the Norfolk term time dates. The Year 9/10 GCSE course is structured into 5 to 7-week blocks, with weekly live sessions running for 30 weeks. See below for the exact dates of this course.
